Name:Quinn Weissman
Bio:
Character History Character Information Personality
Character History:

Quinn and her brother (?) led a very normal childhood, with two loving parents and four very present grandparents. They grew up in Sparta, New Jersey, as their father, Jerry, worked at Sparta College as a history professor, and their mother, Louise, worked as a nurse at hospital in a neighboring town.

Since all of their grandparents were still alive, Quinn and her brother were very spoiled as children, but only to the extent that their family's limited finances could afford. They lived a happy, middle class life.

When she was small, Quinn realized that she was different from the other children. She was always smarter, and always slightly more aware of what was happening in their lives than everyone else in her class, even in pre-school and lower grades. She learned how to read at the age of two and a half, and from that moment on, Quinn's life was one academic adventure after another.

Quinn was a bookworm when she was younger (she still is, but she has more on her plate and less time to read). As a voracious reader, she would read whatever she could get her hands on - novels, nonfiction, magazines, newspapers, she would devour absolutely everything.

She skipped the third grade because she had already taughter herself everything you learn in that grade. After that, she was always a little bothered by the age difference between her and her classmates, but she immersed herself in her studies anyway. She had some friends, but they were limited to the children she met in the gifted program once a week, the girls on her soccer team and in her Hebrew school classes, and the kids in the band class; the students in her class generally disliked her because she was always very eager to answer questions and get even more work than was assigned.

Quinn joined the band when she entered the fourth grade, learning how to play the clarinet. This was one skill that actually took her some time to acquire, and didn't come automatically to her like everything else. She's still very proud of her accomplishments on the instrument, and while she's no Benny Goodman, Quinn is a pretty good musician.

When she was in high school, Quinn started to socialize a little more in order to make more friends, and found a small, close-knit group of friends with whom she still keeps in contact, though none of them go to college with her. She joined the newspaper staff of her high school on top of the marching band and the school orchestra, as she had a passion for writing.

While she was applying for colleges, Quinn really wanted to go to Yale University, but since her father was a tenured Professor at Sparta College, she'd have the opportunity to attend for free (though she could have gotten academic scholarships to other schools). Quinn agreed to go to the school, with her tuition and housing entirely paid for, as long as she could live on campus like her brother did.

Since she was a year younger than her classmates, Quinn decided to take a year off before attending school. She spent the year in Ghana, helping to build a hospital in the small town she stayed in. This experience changed her life, because before this, she had wanted to become a journalist, but after seeing the squalor that these people lived in and the prevalance of AIDS, she decided that she would become a physician so that she could help research and work on curing AIDS, or at least treating it.

Now a sophomore at Sparta College, Quinn is double majoring in biology and physics (because she's good with math), and hopes to attend medical school directly after graduating from college.

Once we have an Ares, a paragraph will be here about the sibling relationship/friendship/rivalry. I don't want to decide that without consulting a player first!

Quinn Weissman

Family:
Father: Jerry Weissman
Mother: Louise Weissman (née Steinberg)
Siblings: ? Weissman (brother, Ares in the game)

Jerry Weissman met his wife, Louise Steinberg, while they were in college at Rutgers in New Jersey (they were both from the state, he was from North Jersey, she was from Cherry Hill). He was a senior when she was a sophomore, and they surprisingly met at a fraternity party and hit it off. They dated for several years, and Jerry proposed to Louise a few weeks after her graduation. She graduated with a degree in nursing, and began to work at a hospital near where the couple began renting an apartment while Jerry went for his PhD in American History at Rutgers. Seven years later, he graduated and began his job as a professor at Sparta College, where he's been working since, while working on his research.
Personality Description:

Since she was a little girl, Quinn was always the brightest in her class or her group of friends. She was always academically inclined, and even skipped a grade in elementary school because she was so far ahead of her classmates.

Quinn usually uses her intelligence wisely - she's book smart and street smart, having a good understanding of how the world works and also how to succeed academically.

She loves her family, and in general, is a nurturing, loving person. When she was in high school, she used to babysit to make some extra money, so she has very maternal instincts, and knows how to calm people and help soothe them.

Though she is intelligent, sometimes Quinn doesn't understand that some people are not as smart as she is. She gets very impatient when trying to explain something to someone who just doesn't understand the concept - this is why she can never become a professor or a tutor. Whenever she'd try to tutor her friends, she'd just leave angry that they couldn't comprehend something that was so simple to her.

Quinn is very progressive in her political thinking, and is very opinionated about politics and how the government works. Heck, Quinn is very opinionated about everything since she thinks she knows everything there is to know. She's a very active member of the Democrats organization on campus, even though her political leanings are even further to the left.

Personality Flaws:

Quinn sometimes uses her intelligence to show off - she'll recite things that she remembers, will be the first to volunteer an answer in class, and more. Thus, she's pretty arrogant about her academic abilities. She's also incredibly impatient when it comes to those who are slower at things than she is.

Positive Personality Traits:

Quinn is a very intelligent and loving girl. She's relatively friendly, and a peaceful person unless you get on her bad side. She evaluates the consequences of an action before taking it. Quinn always stands up for what she believes in.

Character Strengths:

Though she's good at just about everything academic, she has a particular strength in mathematical reasoning - she thinks about everything analytically, like how Athena approached warfare. She's also a talented writer and is a good clarinetist, which she plays in the marching band.

Character Weaknesses:

To every genius, there is some sort of flaw. Quinn is very clumsy, one of the reason's she's in the marching band (to gain some sort of coordination). She has almost no kinetic memory, and thus is a terrible dancer.
